BTS's Jimin is shining on the UK charts, further solidifying his status as the "King of K-pop."
According to the UK Official Charts released on August 9 (local time), Jimin's second solo album MUSE's title track "Who" ranked 25th on the Official Singles Chart, successfully staying in the Top 40 for three consecutive weeks. "Who" initially debuted at 4th place, marking Jimin's highest chart entry to date. It then moved to 11th place in the second week and 25th in the third week, setting a new record for the highest-ranking K-pop solo song in its third week after release.
"Who" also topped both the UK Singles Sales Chart and the Download Chart, maintaining the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weeks. This achievement set a new record for the longest consecutive No. 1 run by a K-pop artist on these charts, making Jimin the first Korean artist to achieve such a long-standing No. 1 with a single song.
On the UK's biggest radio chart show, the "Official Big Top 40" global chart, "Who" astonished many by reaching No. 1 in its first week after just two days of tracking. It continued to hold the top spot in its second week and ranked 17th in the third week. Additionally, Jimin's song "Be Mine" debuted at 30th place, making him the first K-pop solo artist to have two songs simultaneously chart on this show.
Jimin continues to receive immense love in the UK, a country known for its conservative approach to pop music. Despite his military service hiatus, he is achieving remarkable success. On the latest Official Big Top 40 chart, "Who" ranked 31st in its fourth week, indicating a long-term hit as it remains on the charts for an extended period.
