BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) continues to break records, achieving yet another milestone.

According to Japan's Oricon chart on August 14, BTS's digital single "Dynamite," released in August 2020, has surpassed 800 million streams. This makes BTS the first foreign artist to reach 800 million streams for a single song on Oricon. The only other musicians who have crossed the 800 million streaming mark on Oricon are the band YOASOBI and singer-songwriter Yuuri, making BTS's achievement even more remarkable. BTS had previously set a record in April last year by becoming the first male artist to surpass 700 million streams on Oricon with "Dynamite."

"Dynamite," a disco pop track with a bright and cheerful vibe, delivers a message of hope to listeners. It was BTS's first song sung entirely in English, attracting global attention upon its release.

With "Dynamite," BTS became the first K-pop artist to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart (September 5, 2020), reaching the number one spot a total of three times. The song also made BTS the first Korean pop group to be nominated for a Grammy Award, one of the three major music awards in the United States. Additionally, "Dynamite" received a Diamond certification (for over 500 million streams) in the shortest time in the streaming category by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

Meanwhile, on August 13, it was reported by Melon, a major South Korean music platform, that BTS's 2017 title track "Spring Day" from the album "WINGS: YOU NEVER WALK ALONE" had surpassed 1 billion streams. "Spring Day" is the first song to achieve this milestone on Melon.
