BTS's V has proven his popularity once again as his song "FRI(END)S" surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify.


As of August 14, "FRI(END)S" reached the milestone of 300 million streams on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify. This marks V's fifth solo track to surpass 300 million streams, following "Love Me Again," "Slow Dancing," "Christmas Tree," and "Sweet Night." This achievement gives V the record for the most solo tracks with over 300 million streams among male K-pop soloists.


"FRI(END)S," which V released as a fan song on March 15 during his military service, debuted at number 65 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number 5 on the Global 200, and number 3 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.


In the UK, "FRI(END)S" debuted at number 13 on the UK Official Singles Chart and remained on the chart for two consecutive weeks. On the UK's Official Big Top 40 chart, it debuted at number 3 after just two days of tracking and stayed on the chart for five consecutive weeks, setting a record for the longest charting K-pop song. On Tidal, one of the world's top three music streaming platforms, the "FRI(END)S" music video became the first K-pop artist's video to reach number one on the U.S. Tidal Top Videos chart, also claiming the top spot in 22 other countries' Tidal Top Video charts.
In Spotify's mid-year report for 2024, "FRI(END)S" was recognized as the most-streamed K-pop solo song, highlighting its global popularity. It also set a new record by entering the top 10 of the longest-charting K-pop solo songs on the global Spotify charts.


Meanwhile, all of V's credited songs on Spotify have collectively surpassed 3.3 billion streams, demonstrating his enduring global popularity despite his military service.
