BTS's Jungkook has set a remarkable record with his solo single "Seven," which has spent a cumulative 400 days on Spotify's Global Chart, the world's largest music streaming platform.
Recently, the World Music Awards (WMA), often referred to as the "Billboard of Europe," announced that "Seven" had achieved this milestone, highlighting it as a global hit due to its immense popularity and enduring success. The World Music Awards praised the song's extraordinary performance and long-lasting impact, calling it a global mega-hit.
Earlier, Jungkook made history by becoming the first and only Asian solo artist to remain in Spotify's Global Top 50 for a cumulative 300 days with "Seven."
Released in July of last year, "Seven" debuted at No. 1 on Spotify's Daily Global Chart, making it the first and longest-reigning Asian artist's song to hold the top spot for a total of 71 days. Additionally, "Seven" ranked No. 1 on Spotify's Weekly Global Chart for nine weeks, the longest period for any male artist's song in 2023.
"Seven" also set unprecedented records on Spotify, becoming the fastest song in the platform's history to surpass 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion, and 1.1 billion streams (unfiltered). It further broke records by reaching 1.8 billion streams, the shortest time ever for an Asian artist's song and the first for a K-pop solo artist.
