BTS's Jimin has once again showcased his global popularity by dominating the Japanese music charts.


The title track "Who" from Jimin's second solo album, MUSE, reached No. 1 on Spotify Japan's "Daily Top Songs" chart on August 19th, marking the eighth time it has topped the chart. Previously, on the July 28th chart, "Who" achieved over 440,000 streams, setting a record for the highest daily streaming by a Korean solo artist and becoming the first and only Korean solo song to reach No. 1 on this chart in 2024.


"Who" also ranked No. 2 on Spotify Japan's "Weekly Top Songs" chart for the week of July 26th to August 1st, with 2.72 million streams, the highest streaming count and ranking for a Korean solo artist's song on that weekly chart.


In just 17 days since its release, "Who" became the most streamed song by a Korean solo artist on Spotify Japan's "Daily Top Songs" chart in 2024. As of the latest chart on the 21st, it remains highly popular, ranking second with 326,532 streams. Additionally, MUSE debuted at No. 1 on Oricon's "Daily Album Ranking" immediately after its release, and "Who" debuted at No. 2 on the Daily Digital Singles chart and No. 5 on the Weekly Digital Singles chart. The song also debuted at No. 21 on the Billboard Japan "Hot 100" chart and continued its success by ranking 43rd in its fifth week, while topping Deezer Japan's Top 100 for 31 consecutive days.


On Japan's "Shazam Top 200" chart, as of the 19th, "Who" ranked 6th, along with other tracks like "Smeraldo Garden Marching Band," "Be Mine," and "Closer Than This," further demonstrating Jimin's solo power. Additionally, "Who" has been trending on various platforms, including TikTok Japan, where it ranked No. 1 for two consecutive weeks on the "HOT SONGS IN JAPAN" list, which tracks songs gaining popularity on the platform.
