2NE1's return has stirred excitement in Japan, leading to additional concert dates in Kobe and Tokyo. The group’s 15th-anniversary solo concert series has seen such overwhelming demand that more shows have been added, further demonstrating their strong global fanbase and influence.
According to YG Entertainment on September 2nd, all seats for the initial performances of 2NE1's Japan tour, titled '2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOME BACK] IN JAPAN,' in Kobe (two shows) and Tokyo (two shows) sold out quickly. In response to the enthusiastic support from local fans, an additional show was confirmed for November 29th in Kobe and December 13th in Tokyo, bringing the total number of performances to six. The concerts will take place on November 29-30 and December 1 at the Kobe World Memorial Hall, and December 13-15 at the Tokyo Ariake Arena, allowing the group to connect with even more fans.
During their previous activities in Japan, 2NE1 made significant achievements in K-pop history. They became the first foreign artists to top the Oricon Weekly Album Chart with their debut album, and their subsequent two studio albums and three single albums also achieved notable success. Their three tours in Japan at the time were unprecedented in scale for a foreign female artist, attracting extensive media attention.
This highly anticipated comeback after 10 years has generated considerable excitement among Japanese fans. The explosive demand for tickets and numerous requests for additional shows highlight the enduring interest and anticipation for 2NE1, reaffirming their legendary status as a K-pop girl group in Japan.
