HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE (Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sofia, and Yoonchae) is making waves with their recent debut in June and is now embarking on an Asia promotion tour. On September 11, KATSEYE held a media day at HYBE's headquarters in Yongsan, Seoul, to celebrate the start of their tour.
The group was formed through the survival audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, which began in October last year and selected six final members from a pool of 120,000 applicants.
Since their debut on June 28, KATSEYE has already showcased their musical talents on major platforms like ABC's Good Morning America and at various festivals.
KATSEYE, trained using K-pop methodologies and guided by top producers from both Korea and the U.S., has earned praise for their polished music, impressive vocals, confident stage presence, and captivating performances.
Their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) entered the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, and one of their double title tracks, Touch, has been rapidly climbing Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart. The addictive melody and signature choreography of Touch have also been gaining traction on short-form platforms.
The group's journey to stardom is documented in the Netflix series Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which has landed in the "Top 10" rankings in countries such as Canada, France, Denmark, and Singapore, and has achieved global attention.
As KATSEYE continues to rise as a "global phenomenon," they are set to visit the Philippines and Japan as part of their two-week Asia promotion tour. HYBE and Geffen Records shared that KATSEYE will not only appear on music shows but also participate in variety programs, allowing fans to see their diverse charms. KATSEYE is scheduled to make their first appearance on Korean music shows starting with Mnet’s M Countdown on September 12.
