BTS's Jimin has proven his global popularity once again as his song Promise surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, marking his 13th song to achieve this milestone.
Promise, Jimin's self-composed healing song, crossed the 100 million stream mark on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify, on September 19. This makes Promise the 13th song by Jimin to surpass 100 million streams, joining other tracks like Like Crazy, Like Crazy (English Version), Set Me Free Pt.2, Face-off, Alone, Interlude: Dive, Who, Closer Than This, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, With You, Vibe, Angel Pt.1, and now Promise.
Promise was Jimin’s first self-composed track, which he unexpectedly released on SoundCloud on December 31, 2018. The song, set against a gentle guitar melody, conveys comfort and empathy, with Jimin’s clear and soothing vocals shining through.
Upon its release, the song garnered so much attention that it caused SoundCloud’s server to crash, and it broke the platform’s record for the most streams in 24 hours. By February 2019, it had already surpassed 100 million streams. In June 2021, Promise became the most-streamed Korean song in SoundCloud history, with 275.1 million streams in the shortest time, and it continues to receive love, now surpassing 333.49 million streams.
