aespa, under SM Entertainment, is set to deliver a hip-hop dance vibe with their new album Whiplash. Scheduled for release on October 21 at 6 PM, aespa’s fifth mini-album, Whiplash, features a total of six tracks, including the title track of the same name, which showcases a new EDM sound from the group. The album is expected to garner a strong response from global music fans.
One of the standout tracks, "Kill It," is a hip-hop dance song characterized by captivating signature synths and striking vocals. The song conveys a warning message to those who deliver baseless criticism, using powerful rap and vocals. DJ and producer IMLAY, from SM Entertainment's dance music label ScreaM Records, contributed to the composition and arrangement, enhancing the song’s quality.
Another track, Pink Hoodie, is a hip-hop dance song with a unique synth sound and energetic bassline. Its lyrics send a witty message about self-love and confidence, making it a memorable addition to the album.
Additionally, on October 9, aespa began ramping up for their comeback by releasing four solo songs from their second concert SYNK : PARALLEL LINE on various music platforms: UP (KARINA Solo), Dopamine (GISELLE Solo), Bored! (NINGNING Solo), and Spark (WINTER Solo).
