Girl group ILLIT has surpassed 550,000 pre-orders for their second mini album, marking their path to becoming a debut-year million-seller.
According to album distributors Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment on the 18th, ILLIT's (comprising Yoona, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha) mini-album "I'LL LIKE YOU" surpassed 550,000 pre-orders as of the previous day. This figure is more than 2.6 times the pre-order total of their debut mini-album "SUPER REAL ME" (211,851 copies). With three days still remaining until the album's release, further growth is anticipated.
ILLIT debuted in March, and their first album sold over 380,000 copies in its first week and even entered the Billboard 200 chart. Additionally, their debut title track "Magnetic" made history as the first K-pop debut song to enter both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Top 100 (as of April 5).
With this global popularity, the cumulative sales of "SUPER REAL ME" reached 558,227 copies as of Circle Chart data (from March 25 to September 30). Since their new release has already surpassed 500,000 pre-orders, the group is set to add a second half-million-selling album to their debut year and is expected to easily reach a combined total of 1 million album sales this year.
ILLIT's second mini-album "I'LL LIKE YOU," which will be released at 6 PM on the 21st, tells the story of a girl who becomes overly immersed in the moment, meets someone she wants to befriend, struggles with relationships with those around her, but ultimately trusts her feelings and boldly expresses them. The title track, "Cherish (My Love)," is a dance-pop song featuring a catchy hook, an infectious beat, and the members' clear and pure vocals.
