Boy band FTISLAND will continue their activities as a two-member group, following a decision by their agency, FNC Entertainment.
On October 29, the agency released an official statement on FTISLAND's social media, announcing that after careful consideration, they decided that Lee Hongki and Lee Jaejin would continue performing as a duo, while the drum position, previously held by Choi Minhwan, will be filled by a session musician starting from their November 2 schedule.
The agency reassured fans that Hongki and Jaejin will carry on with their performances as planned.
This decision comes after Minhwan became embroiled in controversy following allegations of soliciting prostitution. His former wife, Yulhee, revealed details about their divorce on her personal YouTube channel on October 24. In the video, Yulhee accused Minhwan of visiting a prostitution establishment during their marriage and shared other troubling incidents, such as Minhwan's inappropriate behavior while intoxicated in front of family members. She also released a recorded phone conversation between Minhwan and a man allegedly connected to the prostitution establishment.
As a result of these allegations, Minhwan has stepped down from his role in the KBS 2TV variety show The Return of Superman. Despite the scandal, FTISLAND's remaining members, Hongki and Jaejin, are set to proceed with their activities.
FNC Entertainment's full statement reads as follows:
"Hello, this is FNC ENTERTAINMENT.
We would like to inform you regarding FTISLAND’s future activities.
After a thorough discussion, we have decided that FTISLAND will temporarily continue as a two-member group (Lee Hongki and Lee Jaejin).
Starting from November 2, the drum position will be filled by a session musician, and Lee Hongki and Lee Jaejin will perform without any issues as they have been preparing diligently."
