BTS’s V Surpasses 3.8 Billion Solo Streams on Spotify, Showcasing His Global Influence
BTS member V's solo songs have collectively surpassed 3.8 billion streams on Spotify, proving his immense global popularity.
As of October 30, all tracks credited to V on his Spotify profile have reached this milestone. His profile includes songs from his solo album Layover, drama OSTs, self-composed tracks, and “FRI(END)S,” released during his military service. Notably, V achieved this streaming milestone without collaborations with global pop stars, relying solely on his solo work and self-written songs.
V's digital single “FRI(END)S,” released on March 15, crossed 400 million streams on Spotify as of November 1, making it the fourth of his solo songs to surpass this mark. In the Spotify mid-year summary for 2024, “FRI(END)S” recorded the highest streams for a K-pop solo song.
V's debut solo album Layover, released on September 8 last year, exceeded 2 billion streams on October 27, making him the third K-pop soloist to reach this achievement. Layover also set a record as the first K-pop solo album to have every track surpass 100 million streams on Spotify. Every track from Layover topped Spotify's Global Weekly Chart, and the album ranked #1 on iTunes Album Charts in 110 countries.
The track “Love Me Again” from Layover has been charting on the Spotify Global Chart for over 400 days since its release, making it the first and only K-pop B-side track to chart for 450 days.
Currently, V has 18,939,316 followers on Spotify, making him the first K-pop soloist to surpass 18 million followers, a record that places him #1 among K-pop solo artists and #4 among all K-pop acts. Globally, he ranks 107th in Spotify follower count, joining a select group of only 266 artists worldwide with over 10 million followers, underscoring his impact as a solo artist.
