Girl group BABYMONSTER has surpassed cumulative album sales of 1.53 million copies just eight months after their official debut, solidifying their powerful presence in the global market.
According to YG Entertainment on the 14th, BABYMONSTER (members Luca, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, and Chiquita) has achieved cumulative album sales of 1.53 million copies (based on Circle Chart), combining domestic sales and international exports. This achievement, accomplished with only two albums, holds significant meaning. Their debut mini-album, BABYMONS7ER, recorded 760,000 copies, and their first full album, DRIP, has exceeded 770,000 copies and continues to trend upward. Notably, the full album has already surpassed the cumulative sales of the mini-album within less than two weeks of release. Initial sales (based on Hanteo Chart) surpassed 670,000 copies, with orders reaching 820,000 within a week. At this rate, BABYMONSTER seems poised to achieve their first million-seller single album soon.
Album sales are a key indicator of the size and dedication of an artist’s core fandom, and BABYMONSTER's rapid growth reflects their expanding fan base. Their impressive talent demonstrated on stage, a fan meeting tour to expand their global reach, and the swift release of their first full album have likely acted as catalysts in forming a new fan base.
In addition, BABYMONSTER’s upward momentum is expected to strengthen with a packed schedule that includes the double title tracks "DRIP" and "CLIK CLAK" and follow-up promotions with "Love In My Heart." Next year, they plan to hold their first world tour since debuting, and fans can look forward to enthusiastic responses from various countries.
