BTS's Jimin once again demonstrated his unrivaled popularity with strong support from Japanese fans.
Jimin ranked first in the "October K-pop Male Idol Popularity Poll," conducted by Japanese Korean Wave media outlet 'Danmee' from October 15 to October 29, 2024.
Out of a total of 5,866 votes, he garnered 2,125 votes, achieving a 36.23% voting rate and claiming the top spot, setting a record of holding this position for 20 consecutive months. This survey, designed to capture the voices of K-pop fans, allows only one vote per person and considers factors such as activity index, brand reputation index (provided by BRAND REPUTATION_INDEX), monthly mentions on X (formerly Twitter), and related articles and music videos on Danmee to select 28 prominent K-pop male idols for the poll.
By winning first place in the October poll, Jimin achieved a new record of holding the top spot for 20 consecutive months. Alongside the announcement of his victory, Danmee also shared that Jimin's solo exhibition "The Truth Untold: Fanne Gruit" in Japan is scheduled to be held in Tokyo from January 10 to February 16, 2025. This exhibition will showcase his activities from his first and second solo albums, featuring stage costumes, props, trophies, and other attractions. The Seoul exhibition, held from October 11 to November 3, drew immense love, causing a high demand with an open-run format.
Meanwhile, Jimin’s song "Who," released during his military service, surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify as of November 13, setting a remarkable record just 118 days after its release. This is the fastest record for a solo song by a male solo artist worldwide, making Jimin the first K-pop artist to achieve 1 billion streams on two solo songs on Spotify, highlighting his unique presence.
