SEVENTEEN to Perform at Disney's Year-End Holiday Special: First K-pop Group to Participate
SEVENTEEN has been announced as the first K-pop group to perform at Disney’s year-end special, The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.
According to ABC on November 20 (local time), SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) will appear on the show, airing on December 1. The group will present a solo performance of the holiday classic "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town."
Now in its ninth year, The Wonderful World of Disney is a special holiday program featuring world-class artists from various fields. Previous performers include Mariah Carey, Michael Bolton, David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Kelly Clarkson, and Idina Menzel.
This year, SEVENTEEN joins a star-studded lineup that includes legendary artists such as Elton John, John Legend, and Pentatonix, further solidifying their growing influence in North America. The show will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, co-hosts of the popular ABC program Dancing with the Stars.
SEVENTEEN recently wrapped up the North American leg of their SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR, holding 10 shows across five cities. The tour’s finale in Los Angeles included a special city-wide project called SEVENTEEN THE CITY, blending their performance content and IP with local infrastructure, creating a buzz throughout the city.
Following their success in the U.S., SEVENTEEN will release their 4th Japanese single, "Shohikigen," on November 27 and embark on a dome tour in Japan. The tour kicks off at Vantelin Dome Nagoya on November 29-30, followed by Tokyo Dome on December 4-5, Kyocera Dome Osaka on December 12 and 14-15, and concludes at Fukuoka PayPay Dome on December 19, 21-22.
