IVE’s Jang Wonyoung to Host ‘AAA 2024’ for the Fourth Consecutive Year, Cementing Her Status as an MZ Icon

Jang Wonyoung of the girl group IVE will once again take on the role of MC for the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) for the fourth consecutive year, solidifying her status as a leading figure among the MZ generation.

According to Starship Entertainment on November 28, Jang Wonyoung will host the 9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024), set to take place on December 27 at the IMPACT Challenger Hall 1-2 in Bangkok, Thailand. Since her debut as an AAA MC in 2021, she has continued this role annually, earning recognition for her exceptional hosting skills and elegance on stage.

At last year’s AAA 2023 in the Philippines, Jang received widespread praise for her poised hosting, flawless foreign language skills, and charm, which also earned her the Asia Celebrity award.

In addition to her success as an artist, Jang Wonyoung’s upbeat personality and versatile appeal have made her a sought-after model for various fashion and beauty brands. This year, her positive mindset, referred to as “Wonyoung Thinking”, gained immense popularity among the MZ generation, leading to the creation of the viral term “Lucky Vicky”, combining “Lucky” and her English name, “Vicky.”

The phrase “Lucky Vicky” has become a cultural phenomenon, frequently used not only by fans and the public but also by major corporations and public institutions. It even inspired critical thinking tests based on its positive connotations. With its widespread adoption, Lucky Vicky emerged as a defining meme of 2024, showcasing the power of positivity and Jang Wonyoung’s influence beyond K-pop, as a trendsetter and cultural icon.
