SEVENTEEN Earns Double Platinum Certification in Japan, Marking Their 18th Overall Achievement


K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has added another milestone to their record with their 4th Japanese single.


According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on December 10, SEVENTEEN’s 4th Japanese single “Shohikigen (消費期限 / Expiration Date)” surpassed cumulative shipments of 500,000 copies as of November, earning a Double Platinum certification. The RIAJ awards certifications based on cumulative shipment thresholds: Gold (100,000 copies), Platinum (250,000 copies), and Double Platinum (500,000 copies). With this, SEVENTEEN now boasts a total of 18 Gold Disc certifications.


Notably, this year alone, the group has achieved four certifications in Japan:


Double Platinum for their best album 17 IS RIGHT HERE.Gold for the special unit single THIS MAN by Jeonghan and Wonwoo.Platinum for their 12th mini album SPILL THE FEELS.These accolades highlight SEVENTEEN’s immense popularity and influence in Japan.
"Shohikigen", released on November 27, debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking and maintained the top position for nine consecutive days. It also secured No. 1 on Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking (as of December 9, covering the period November 25–December 1), Weekly Combined Single Ranking, and Billboard Japan’s Top Single Sales (as of December 4, for the same period).


Japan Dome Tour
SEVENTEEN is currently on their sold-out Japan Dome Tour. Following performances at Nagoya’s Vantelin Dome last month, the group captivated fans at Tokyo Dome on December 4–5. Local media praised the concerts, with Tokyo Chunichi Sports stating, "The venue was filled with energy," and Nikkan Sports describing the shows as "proof of their overwhelming popularity."


The tour continues with upcoming shows at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome (December 12, 14–15) and Fukuoka’s PayPay Dome (December 19, 21–22).
SEVENTEEN continues to solidify their status as a global sensation, leaving an indelible mark on the Japanese music industry.
