2NE1 Successfully Wraps Up Tokyo Concert... Celebrates 15th Anniversary Asia Tour
2NE1 ignited Japan with their overwhelming live performances, proving once again why they are considered a "Legendary K-Pop Girl Group."
From June 13th to 15th, 2NE1 held their ‘2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOME BACK] IN JAPAN’ at Tokyo Ariake Arena. Originally planned for two days on the 14th and 15th, an additional performance on the 13th was added due to overwhelming demand, highlighting their enduring popularity in Japan. Amid explosive cheers, 2NE1 opened the concert with a powerful start, performing “Come Back Home” and their debut track “Fire.” The group then continued with an energetic lineup of hits such as “Clap Your Hands,” “Can’t Nobody,” and “Do You Love Me,” thrilling fans with a setlist filled with mega-hit songs.
During their earlier activities, 2NE1 achieved numerous K-Pop milestones in Japan, garnering immense popularity. To celebrate their 15th anniversary and connect with their Japanese fans, the group performed some of their tracks, including the iconic “I Am the Best,” in Japanese, delighting the audience with their heartfelt gesture.
A surprise performance added to the excitement. YG’s newest girl group, BABYMONSTER, made their first guest appearance in Japan following their appearance in 2NE1’s Seoul concert. BABYMONSTER captivated the audience with their powerful performance, further intensifying the electric atmosphere. The warm camaraderie between 2NE1 and BABYMONSTER showcased the close bond between YG senior and junior girl groups, creating a heartwarming moment for fans.
The members’ commanding stage presence was amplified by YG’s signature high-quality production, including LED visuals, live bands, and backup dancers. The encore reached its peak as fans waved their light sticks in unison, creating a sea of lights. Overwhelmed with emotion, the members expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you to Blackjacks (fandom) for always being by our side. Let’s stay together forever. We love you.”
Meanwhile, 2NE1 is currently on their 15th-anniversary Asia tour, performing in a total of 12 cities across 25 shows. Having successfully completed concerts in Seoul, Manila, Jakarta, Kobe, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, they have reached the tour's midpoint. The group will continue to bring the heat to cities such as Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh, and Macau.
