"Solo Album Will Reveal Jennie's True Self"



Global artist Jennie of BLACKPINK has chosen as the cover of the U.S. music magazine Billboard.


On January 9 (local time), Billboard released an article titled "A Fight with Myself: Jennie's Deep Dive into Solo Album Creation" on its official website, along with images from Jennie's feature in the January issue and an in-depth interview. Highlighting Jennie's journey, Billboard stated, "The world knows BLACKPINK’s Jennie, but her upcoming debut solo album will reveal and showcase her true self."


In the interview, Jennie shared, "I started listing the things I want in life and figuring out exactly what my next steps are or how to set priorities. That’s when I realized, 'I still haven’t achieved my dream of releasing a solo album.' I wanted to achieve that goal for my own fulfillment." She candidly discussed various aspects of her journey, including the founding of her label ODDATELIER and her partnership with Columbia Records. 


Jennie expressed, "I want to complete myself as a whole person as Jennie Ruby Jane," adding, "Once the album is out, you'll fully understand what I mean. It showcases me rapping here, singing there, harmonizing here, and storytelling there—it's a mix of genres and elements that I love. I’ve crafted the sound to ensure I love every track."
