"Jimin Breaks Jimin's Record": BTS Jimin's 'Who' Achieves Most-Streamed K-pop Solo Song on Spotify
BTS's Jimin has once again made history on the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, solidifying his global presence.
The title track "Who" from Jimin's second album MUSE has reached an incredible 1.328 billion streams. Achieving this record-breaking milestone in just 176 days since its release on July 19 last year, "Who" has become the most-streamed K-pop solo song in Spotify's history.
The previous record-holder was also Jimin, with "Like Crazy," the title track from his first album FACE. This achievement proves the phrase "Jimin breaks Jimin's records" once again, showcasing his dominance as a global music powerhouse. Jimin is the first and only Korean solo artist to have two songs surpassing 1.3 billion streams on Spotify. As of January 15, "Who" has 1.342 billion streams, while "Like Crazy" boasts 1.324 billion streams.
Notably, Jimin has achieved these incredible milestones purely as a solo artist without collaborations with other prominent global artists, underscoring his individual strength and artistry.
"Who" also holds the record for the longest-charting song by a Korean artist in Spotify's Global Daily Top Songs Chart Top 10, remaining on the chart for 159 days. Moreover, it has consistently ranked No. 1 on Spotify's Korea Daily Top Songs Chart since its release.
Meanwhile, Jimin continues to dominate Spotify as a representative K-pop artist. On January 11, just two years and nine months after his Spotify profile was created, he surpassed 6 billion total streams with only 34 songs.
With over 4.8 billion streams solely from his solo songs, Jimin is the first and only K-pop solo artist to achieve this feat. He continues to write an unparalleled legacy in the global music industry.
