Hwang Young-woong Fills KSPO DOME with 10,000 Fans: "An Emotional End to the Wait" [Comprehensive Report]
Trot singer Hwang Young-woong successfully wrapped up his large-scale showcase.
On February 8 and 9, KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, was packed with 10,000 fans for the 2025 Hwang Young-woong Album Release Showcase – PANORAMA SHOWKING. Held one year and four months after his debut, the showcase was based on his first full-length album Your Side, released in October last year. The performance was uniquely themed around "Pa-No-Ra-Ma", with each section representing different colors and life stories that anyone can relate to.
The show opened with "Bluebird." Appearing on an aerial stage installation designed to resemble the sky, Hwang Young-woong delivered a cinematic performance, enhanced by dreamlike cloud effects and blue-toned lighting. He then performed his self-composed song "Just Move Along", utilizing a 360-degree rotating turntable lift to interact with fans on the second and third floors, creating an immersive experience beyond a simple concert.
Throughout the showcase, Hwang Young-woong honored the traditional essence of trot while incorporating innovative elements, showcasing his expanded musical spectrum. He reinterpreted classics like Nam Jin’s "Mushiro" and Na Hoon-a’s "Even If You Hate Me, Love Me Again", infusing them with his unique style. Additionally, he blended Seol Woon-do’s "I Miss You, My Love" with Donna Summer’s "Hot Stuff" and Ricky Martin’s "Livin’ La Vida Loca", merging pop influences with trot.
Through these bold experiments and challenges, Hwang Young-woong demonstrated his continuous growth as an artist, proving his evolution in both performance and musical artistry.
