BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Solo Career Thrives… Tops Worldwide Album Charts
BLACKPINK member Jisoo has once again proven her global dominance by sweeping music charts worldwide.
Jisoo’s new mini-album ‘AMORTAGE’, released on February 14, along with its title track ‘earthquake’, and B-side tracks ‘Your Love’, ‘TEARS’, and ‘Hugs & Kisses’, have been achieving outstanding results across all major music platforms both domestically and internationally throughout the weekend.
Upon release, ‘AMORTAGE’ immediately climbed to the top of the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, maintaining its No.1 position in over 39 countries. On Spotify, the album’s songs accumulated over 5 million streams on the first day, pushing ‘earthquake’ onto the Spotify Global Chart. In physical album sales, ‘AMORTAGE’ debuted at No.1 on Hanteo Chart, breaking the record for the highest first-day sales by a solo artist in South Korea this year.
The ‘earthquake’ music video, released alongside the album, skyrocketed to No.1 on YouTube’s trending music and saw a rapid increase in views. Short-form videos related to the song, shared on TikTok, have also gone viral. As a result, Jisoo’s TikTok account has become the fastest in history for a female Korean artist to surpass 7 million followers.
In China, ‘AMORTAGE’ continues its dominance, securing No.1 on the annual digital music album chart, No.1 on the music video chart, No.1 on Tencent Music’s integrated K-pop chart, and No.1 on QQ Music’s Best-Selling Digital Album Weekly Chart. Notably, not just ‘earthquake’, but all the tracks from the album continue to perform strongly at the top of the charts.
