BTS Jimin's 'Who' Earns BRIT Gold Certification in the UK—First K-pop Soloist to Achieve This Milestone After Chart Revision
BTS member Jimin’s solo track Who has set another historic record in the UK, making history as the first K-pop solo song to achieve this milestone.
On February 15 (KST), Who received Gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) after surpassing 400,000 units in sales. The BPI awards certifications based on combined digital downloads, streaming numbers, and physical album sales. The certification levels are Silver (200,000+), Gold (400,000+), Platinum (600,000+), and Multi-Platinum (1.2 million+).
This Gold certification marks the first and only K-pop solo track to achieve the feat since PSY’s Gangnam Style, reaching the milestone just 211 days after its release on July 19, 2023. Notably, Jimin accomplished this without collaborations with famous artists, making the achievement even more significant—especially as he is currently on military service.
On the latest UK Official Singles Top 100 Chart, Who climbed six spots to No. 17, marking its seventh resurgence since first entering the chart in July 2023. It has now remained on the chart for 24 weeks, setting a new record for the longest-charting K-pop solo song since the chart was revised in 2014.
Jimin now holds the record for the longest-charting song in both group and solo categories among K-pop acts, following BTS’s Dynamite. Additionally, Who secured the No. 23 spot on the Official Audio Streaming Chart and No. 26 on the Official Streaming Chart, maintaining its presence for 29 consecutive weeks—further proving its enduring popularity.
