‘aespa’s Sister Group’ Hearts2Hearts Reveal Key Highlights of Their Debut Track


SM Entertainment’s new girl group, Hearts2Hearts, is set to make their highly anticipated debut with the release of their first single The Chase on February 24.


The Chase consists of two tracks: the title track The Chase and the B-side Butterflies. With these contrasting songs, Hearts2Hearts aims to showcase their unique musical identity, drawing increasing attention from global fans. The group themselves have shared key points to appreciate in their debut release.


The title track, The Chase, blends dreamy soundscapes with enchanting vocal melodies, creating a mysterious and ethereal atmosphere. The song is characterized by its bold and distinctive bass synth, with dynamic mood shifts throughout the track. Written by renowned SM songwriter KENZIE, the lyrics convey a message of self-determination—"I will carve my own path"—and encapsulate the excitement and curiosity of stepping into a new world, raising expectations for the group’s debut.


Regarding The Chase, Hearts2Hearts shared, “It’s a song with a unique and fresh sound that we’ve never heard before. Its dreamy and mystical vibe reminds us of a purple haze.” They also highlighted the track’s unexpected transitions, adding, “The sudden change in the chorus really surprised us the first time we heard it. The shifting moods throughout the song make it an exciting listen.”


Meanwhile, Butterflies is a mid-tempo R&B track that pairs a rich bassline with delicate guitar melodies, complemented by soothing vocal harmonies. The song’s poetic lyrics depict the heartfelt moment of realizing a long-awaited dream, offering a warm and emotional contrast to The Chase.


Discussing Butterflies, the group emphasized the harmony between its melody and lyrics, saying, “The soft yet refreshing melody perfectly matches the hopeful message about embracing new beginnings.” They further described their experience listening to the track: “As soon as we heard it, it felt like butterflies were fluttering around us. It’s the perfect song to play while driving, watching the sunset, or listening to during the quiet hours of dawn.”


On February 19 at midnight, Hearts2Hearts heightened anticipation by unveiling unit teaser images for The Chase across their official social media platforms, showcasing the unique charms and stunning visuals of members Yuha, Jueun, Aina, Ian, and Yeon.
