BTS's Jimin's 'Who' Simultaneously Enters Major Global Charts… A Key Player in the Global K-pop Boom


BTS member Jimin has demonstrated his immense global popularity by simultaneously entering major music charts worldwide.


The title track "Who" from Jimin’s second album, MUSE, has become the first and only song by an Asian artist to chart for 25 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S., Official Singles Chart in the UK, and Billboard Hot 100 in Japan and the Philippines. On the Billboard Hot 100, announced on February 25, "Who" ranked 44th, marking its 30th week on the chart. This achievement makes it the third longest-charting K-pop song in history. Given its current momentum, expectations are high that it could set the longest charting record for a solo K-pop artist and possibly for all of K-pop.


"Who" has also been making waves on the UK's Official Chart, one of the two most significant global music charts alongside Billboard. In the Official Singles Chart, released on February 22, it ranked 37th, maintaining its place on the chart for 25 weeks—making it the second longest-charting K-pop song since the chart's reorganization in 2014.


Beyond the U.S. and UK, "Who" is achieving remarkable success in Asia as well. On Billboard Japan's Hot 100, announced on February 26, the song ranked 97th, marking 32 consecutive weeks on the chart—making it the first and only K-pop solo song to achieve this feat since BoA’s "Merry-Chri" in 2010. Additionally, on Billboard Philippines' Hot 100, the song ranked 74th, maintaining a 31-week streak, continuing to extend its record as the longest-charting K-pop solo song.


Furthermore, "Who" topped Spotify’s 'Global Impact List' for the second half of 2024, ranking as the most streamed Korean song internationally. This list, compiled from streaming data between July 1 and December 31, features the most-streamed Korean tracks outside of Korea—further solidifying Jimin’s overwhelming global influence.
