BTS's Jimin Sets Historic Record as the Longest-Charting K-Pop Artist on Both Major Global Pop Charts
BTS member Jimin has solidified his career as a solo artist by achieving the longest-charting record on the world's two major pop charts.
With the title track "Who" from his second solo album MUSE, Jimin climbed 21 spots on the UK Official Singles Chart, reaching No. 23, marking an impressive chart resurgence. This brings his total to 27 weeks on the chart, making it the longest-charting K-pop song on the Official Singles Chart since its 2014 revamp, tying with BTS's Dynamite. Jimin continues to break his own record as the longest-charting Korean solo artist and has now become the only K-pop artist to hold the longest-charting record on the UK Official Singles Chart in both group and solo activities.
"Who" has also secured the No. 33 spot on the Official Streaming Chart and No. 28 on the Official Audio Streaming Chart, maintaining a presence on both charts for 32 weeks. Meanwhile, on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart, Who ranks at No. 33, marking a total of 31 weeks on the chart. This ties Jimin with PSY’s Gangnam Style for the longest-charting K-pop solo song in history. The only K-pop song that has remained on the chart longer is BTS's Dynamite (32 weeks).
Just as in the UK, Jimin is now the only K-pop artist to hold the longest-charting records on the Billboard Hot 100 in both group and solo activities. This cements his position as a global pop star, standing shoulder to shoulder with internationally renowned artists.
