BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Shares Closing Thoughts on “Utopia”: “May You Run Towards Hope Without Hesitation”
Jisoo of BLACKPINK has shared her closing thoughts on the recently concluded Coupang Play series, “Utopia.”
In “Utopia,” which ended on the 21st, Jisoo took on the role of Youngju, a character fiercely devoted to Jaeyoon (played by Park Jungmin) – someone who couldn’t even be stopped by zombies – and brimming with courage and determination, driving the suspenseful plot until the very end. Jisoo, who successfully transformed into a new character through “Utopia,” expressed her feelings through her agency, BLISSOO, stating, “It feels like a precious work was created with many actors and staff members, and I am honored to have been a part of it.”
She continued, “While living as Youngju, I had many opportunities to reflect on things I had forgotten were precious, so I am grateful to Youngju and will continue to support her! I hope that many people who watched ‘Utopia’ will run towards hope without hesitation, and please continue to support Youngju!” expressing her affection for the character.
While initially facing criticism for her acting in the early episodes of “Utopia,” Jisoo garnered positive reviews as the series progressed. She captivated viewers with her ability to navigate the temperature differences between thrill and heartfelt narrative within the ‘zombie romantic comedy’ genre, and delivered exhilarating excitement through her action scenes, unafraid to embrace a more unglamorous side. She also added to the excitement and fun by acquiring items like chainsaws and kickboards, demonstrating growing survival skills and wit, and showcasing her charming and unpredictable personality.
Meanwhile, Jisoo successfully released her new mini-album ‘AMORTAGE’ last month, achieving strong results on music charts worldwide with the title track ‘earthquake.’ She is currently enjoying a successful run with her 2025 fan meeting tour ‘LIGHTS, LOVE, ACTION!’ across seven Asian cities, including Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Macau, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Hanoi.
Furthermore, she is set to continue her active career as an actress with the upcoming film ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,’ scheduled for release in July, and the Netflix series ‘Monthly Boyfriend.’
