Boy group CRAVITY is gearing up for a comeback with their second full album, signaling a new chapter for the group.
Starship Entertainment, CRAVITY’s agency, released concept film for their second full album, ‘DARE TO CRAVE,’ on June 4th via the group’s official social media channels. The release also included a reveal of CRAVITY’s new logo, further building anticipation.
The concept film opens with the phrase "Of Things That Come Too Easily." It then depicts scenes of decaying grapes, polluted nature, and a junkyard, representing discarded objects. The film shows member Seongmin watching these scenes on TV, followed by the other members voraciously consuming grapes, symbolizing their desires. The dynamic visuals are enhanced by a powerful and fast-paced musical score and diverse scene transitions.
The video concludes with the phrase “Crave Gravity” swelling like grapes and merging to form “CRAVITY,” emphasizing the album’s close connection to grapes. The merging of “CRAVE” and “GRAVITY” to create “CRAVITY” highlights a change in the group’s name’s meaning.
The logo motion video further elaborates on the new logo’s meaning, showing grapes transforming into living organisms and then into the logo itself. The video depicts grapes undergoing multiple cell divisions to form eyes, a nose, and ears, ultimately taking the shape of the letter ‘C.’ The logo is then completed with a “CRAVITY” text made to resemble grape vines.
Since their debut in 2020, CRAVITY has established themselves with their unique concepts, energetic live performances, and diverse choreography, earning them the titles of “vocal-vity” and “perfo-vity.” They achieved a significant milestone by winning Mnet’s ‘Road to Kingdom: ACE OF ACE’ last year and followed up with their single album ‘FIND THE ORBIT’ in December, continuing to explore themes of youth and their own narrative.
The upcoming second full album, ‘DARE TO CRAVE,’ marks a comeback approximately 7 months after ‘FIND THE ORBIT’ and a return to a full album format after 3 years since the release of their first full album Part 2, ‘LIBERTY: IN OUR COSMOS’ in March 2022. This suggests CRAVITY will present more elaborate music and content.
