‘Something Big is Coming’ BTS Announces Complete Group Comeback Next Year… New Album & World Tour Teased
The group BTS has announced a complete group comeback next year.
During a live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse on June 1st, BTS surprised fans by announcing, “A group album is scheduled to be released next spring.” They added, “We’ll be working together from July to prepare. Since it’s a group album, I think all the members’ thoughts will be included. We’ll be working like we’re starting from scratch.”
They also revealed plans for a world tour alongside the new album. BTS encouraged fans, saying, “We’ll be visiting places all over the world, so please look forward to it.”
BTS entered a ‘military hiatus’ in December 2022, starting with the enlistment of the oldest member, Jin. With Suga completing his social service duty on May 21st, all members have now completed their military service. With all members having taken off their uniforms, BTS plans to sequentially head to the United States in July to begin music production and concert preparations. They plan to release a new album in 2026 and embark on a large-scale world tour, once again painting the world purple.
This world tour will be BTS’s first in about four years since ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ ended in 2022. That tour attracted approximately 4 million viewers through in-person performances, online live streaming, live viewings, and live plays.
They also mentioned their individual activities scheduled for the second half of this year. They shared stories about Jin’s fan concert tour ‘#RunSeokjin_EP.Tour’ which began in Goyang on May 28th and 29th. Members who attended the concert in person shared their impressions, saying, “It was really fun. He played the piano so well, and it was a performance only Jin could pull off,” offering their support to Jin.
J-Hope successfully concluded his ‘j-hope Tour ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ and is set to take the stage as a headliner at ‘Lollapalooza Berlin’ held at the Olympiastadion Berlin in Germany on June 12th and 13th, heating up the global stage. The members expressed their support, saying, “We’re really looking forward to it, and we think he’ll do great.”
Meanwhile, this live broadcast marked BTS’s first group live broadcast in about 20 months since September 2022, and the total number of real-time views during the 30-minute broadcast exceeded 7.3 million.
