Jimin of BTS has set a historic record on Spotify, demonstrating his unparalleled popularity in the U.S.
“Who,” the title track from Jimin’s second album “MUSE,” has entered Spotify’s U.S. all-time streaming chart at number 99, becoming the first K-Pop song to achieve a position in the top 100. According to the chart update on July 10th, “Who” surpassed 374.22 million (filtered) cumulative streams on Spotify’s U.S. chart, surpassing Lil Nas X’s “Industry Baby” and J Cole’s “Wet Dreamz” to claim the 99th spot. Jimin is the first and only K-Pop artist to achieve this milestone. He is also the first and only Korean solo artist to record over 530 million (filtered) streams on Spotify’s U.S. chart.
Notably, Jimin is the first and only Korean artist to have two songs (“Like Crazy” & “Who”) surpass 100 million streams on the chart. Both songs were achieved as a solo artist, without collaboration with Western artists, demonstrating his immense popularity in the U.S. and solidifying the nickname “Jimmerica” (Jimin + America).
