Girl group Kep1er (Choi Yujin, Xiaoting, Kim Chaehyun, Kim Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Seo Youngeun) has become even stronger.


The group recently held a round interview at a café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, to mark the release of their 7th mini-album Bubble Gum. Member Seo Youngeun, who is currently on hiatus due to health issues, was absent.



Bubble Gum showcases Kep1er’s transformation into summer queens, featuring powerful performances and addictive vocals as its main highlights. The album contains five tracks that blend mischievous, unpredictable charisma with catchy rhythms.



The title track of the same name stands out with its bold yet cynical lyrics, declaring, “I’ll swallow whole all the uncomfortable gazes directed at me, as if laughing at them.” In contrast, Kep1er’s cool and energetic vocals deliver a refreshing impact.



Kep1er was formed through Mnet’s audition program Girls Planet 999: Girls’ War, which concluded in October 2021. The group debuted the following January with a fixed 2-year-and-6-month activity period. According to the original plan, their contract was set to expire in July of last year, after which the members would go their separate ways. However, seven members — except for Kang Yeseo and Mashiro — dramatically succeeded in renewing their contracts, marking the first time for an audition-born idol group to achieve such a record.
