HYBE and Geffen Records’ global girl group KATSEYE (members: Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, Yoonchae) lit up the stage at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles.
On the 18th (local time), KATSEYE appeared at “Spotlight” held at the museum’s Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace. Spotlight is a concert and interview series produced by the GRAMMY Museum that highlights the potential of rising artists. The program has previously featured big names such as Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, singer-songwriter and fashion icon Madison Beer, and U.S. pop band Almost Monday.
During the Q&A session, the six members reflected on their past year of activities and shared their upcoming plans, heightening anticipation. In particular, having been included in the lineup for next year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, they expressed: “The songs we’ve released so far aren’t enough. We’re working hard, so please look forward to it,” drawing loud cheers from fans.
They then took the stage in bold black outfits, performing a medley of hits: “Gabriela,” which has been resurging on global charts, “Touch,” one of the double title tracks from their debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong), and “Gnarly,” released this past April. Despite their high-energy choreography, they delivered stable vocals, once again proving themselves as performance powerhouses. The packed audience responded with sing-alongs and cheers, further fueling the excitement.
KATSEYE is a group spearheading Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s vision of globalizing the K-pop methodology. They were formed through the global audition project “The Debut: Dream Academy,” which attracted over 120,000 applicants worldwide. Based on HYBE America’s Training & Development (T&D) system, they officially debuted in the U.S. in June of last year. This coming November, they will launch their first North American solo tour, with all tickets already sold out.
