Vocal group Brown Eyed Soul (Jungyup, Naul, Youngjun) is finally making their long-awaited comeback.

On September 23 at 6 p.m., the group will release their 5th full-length album Soul Tricycle. This marks their first complete full album in six years, following the half album It’ Soul Right released in 2019. The new record encompasses the broad spectrum of “soul” music, incorporating a variety of styles from different eras. All eyes are on what kind of sound Brown Eyed Soul will deliver through this long-awaited 5th album.

The album spans more than five decades of Black music, ranging from 1960s Southern Soul to 1970s Philly Soul, 1980s Quiet Storm, 1990s Contemporary R&B, and even touches of classic Motown. To ensure the highest quality, the group personally oversaw the mastering process in Japan.

The title track, “Our Moment”, is a contemporary pop R&B song with a strong 1990s sensibility, lyrically reflecting on memories of a time that can never return. It combines Brown Eyed Soul’s heartrending harmonies with Naul’s explosive ad-libs.

The album features 14 tracks in total, including 8 brand-new songs and 6 previously released tracks from their half album. New tracks include the intro Soul Tricycle; the 70s-inspired soul rhythm of Maybe You Are Like This; the 60s Southern Soul-style Love Scat (feat. Cosmic Chips); the reinterpreted 70s Philly Soul track City of Flowing Nights; the 90s-inspired R&B Tonight, It’s Us; the R&B ballad Everyday You; and the emotional collaboration with Eco Bridge, A Familiar Story.
