The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation (Chairman Lee Sung-hee) announced today (Oct. 1) that singer Lim Young-woong, through the passionate support of his fan club “Hero Era” on the donation platform Good Star, has donated 2 million KRW in prize money to support emergency medical expenses for children battling pediatric cancer, leukemia, and rare incurable diseases.
Good Star is a donation platform where fans can support artists by watching videos and songs within the app and completing missions. Prize money is awarded based on rankings and donated in the name of the artist. Having achieved a cumulative donation of 112 million KRW through Good Star, Lim Young-woong is also preparing to launch his 2025 nationwide concert tour IM HERO, beginning with a performance in Incheon this October.
The donated funds in Lim Young-woong’s name will be used to cover emergency medical expenses for children suffering from pediatric cancer, leukemia, and rare diseases. The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s emergency medical support program provides hospitalization fees, medication costs, and other treatment-related expenses to families facing financial hardship due to sudden medical bills. The initiative helps ease their economic burden and allows families to focus on their children’s recovery in a more stable environment.
Hong Seung-yoon, director of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, expressed gratitude, stating:
“His consistent support has been a tremendous help to families struggling with the cost of treatment. We are deeply thankful for the warmth and generosity he continues to extend to these children.”
