BLACKPINK’s Rosé Speaks Amid Racism Controversy in the U.K.: “The Show Was Beautiful”

BLACKPINK member Rosé has found herself at the center of controversy over alleged racial discrimination. Rather than directly addressing the issue, she quietly shared her impressions of the fashion show.

On October 1, Rosé reposted a photo of herself with singer Charli XCX that was originally shared by luxury brand Saint Laurent. She also uploaded a video from the show, writing, “Thank you for inviting me to such an incredible show. Your work is beautiful. Love you.”

Rosé had attended the Saint Laurent 2026 Spring/Summer Womenswear Collection Show in Paris on September 29 (local time). As the brand’s global ambassador, her presence alone drew significant attention.

The controversy arose when Elle UK posted photos from the event on its official account, showcasing celebrities walking the runway near the Eiffel Tower and attending the show. Among them was a photo featuring three female celebrities, including English singer-songwriter Charli XCX — but Rosé, who was standing right beside them, was cropped out.

This sparked allegations of racial discrimination, especially since Rosé is a prominent Saint Laurent ambassador. The controversy further escalated when Charli XCX posted a photo on her Instagram where Rosé appeared darkened and shadowed.

Amid backlash, Charli XCX later uploaded several additional photos featuring herself together with Rosé, seemingly in response to the growing criticism.
