Singer MC Mong has issued a warning about a scam being conducted under his name.

On the afternoon of the 28th, MC Mong posted on his personal social media, “Someone is using my old number to scam people. Don’t fall for it,” along with screenshots of a messenger conversation. He then asked, “Has anyone else been victimized by this bastard who’s pretending their bank account is frozen and asking for money?”



In the screenshot, an acquaintance of MC Mong—identified as “A”—appears to be talking to someone they believe is MC Mong. When the person claiming to be MC Mong said, “I’m struggling,” A replied, “I hope I can be some comfort when you’re having a hard time.” The impersonator then asked for money, saying, “I can’t use my main bank account right now. Can you help me?” It was later confirmed that the account belonged to MC Mong’s old phone number, and the scammer had been messaging his acquaintances to ask for money.



Previously, MC Mong posted a photo on social media showing his wrist with visible scars, revealing, “I attempted to take my own life a month ago.” He confessed, “I’ve been suffering from severe depression and my health deteriorated after a surgery, to the point where it became difficult to continue making music. In order to find a way to keep doing music for a long time—focusing on my health and my personal growth—I’ve decided to study abroad.”
