Hwasa has become the very first artist to top the newly launched “Billboard Korea Hot 100” chart.



Billboard Korea, in partnership with Billboard U.S., launched two new official charts on December 3 to track the domestic and global popularity of K-pop simultaneously. With her new song “Good Goodbye,” Hwasa earned the honor of taking the historic first No. 1 spot on the chart.

The newly introduced charts are the “Billboard Korea Hot 100” and “Billboard Korea Global K-Songs.” These charts are the first under the Billboard brand to officially measure and rank the global consumption of K-music, aiming to provide transparent and reliable standards for the K-pop industry.



Hwasa is breaking records not only in Korea but also in Western markets with “Good Goodbye.” This week, the song debuted at No. 43 on the Billboard Global 200, further proving her strength as a solo artist even without Western promotions, despite being a Korean-language track. “Good Goodbye” has now become Hwasa’s biggest international chart success since her solo debut in 2019.



The “Billboard Korea Hot 100” tracks the most popular songs within Korea regardless of language, serving as a key indicator of domestic success.

On the other hand, the “Billboard Korea Global K-Songs” chart measures the global popularity of K-music—including Korea—marking a significant step forward as K-pop solidifies its status as a major international music genre.



By offering both domestic and global perspectives, the new charts allow fans and industry professionals to compare and analyze an artist’s performance from two essential angles.



Silvio Pietroluongo, Senior Vice President of Charts and Data Partnerships at Billboard, stated,
“Our goal is to establish an objective standard for the industry,” emphasizing that
“the new music charts will serve as a ‘common language’ connecting artists, fan communities, and industry experts.”
