Girl group TWICE will make history next April as the first foreign artist to hold a solo concert at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
On December 7, TWICE announced through their official Japanese social media accounts that they will hold three solo concerts at Tokyo National Stadium as part of the additional dates for their sixth world tour, THIS IS FOR. According to the announcement, TWICE will perform on April 25, 26, and 28, 2026 at the venue, which is considered the most symbolically significant performance space in Japan. This marks the first time an overseas artist will hold a solo show at the stadium.
Since the concerts will be held as part of the 360-degree open-seating format of the THIS IS FOR world tour, each show is expected to accommodate roughly 80,000 attendees, drawing an estimated 240,000 fans across the three dates — the largest scale ever.
In September, TWICE completed the Japanese dome leg of their world tour, attracting a total of 400,000 attendees. At the final Tokyo Dome show, the members expressed, “We will move on to an even bigger stage,” hinting at additional performances in Japan in 2026. Now, with their confirmed debut at Tokyo National Stadium — a first for a foreign act — TWICE is elevating their status as a top global girl group, drawing worldwide attention.
Recently, TWICE achieved another milestone when “Strategy,” a track from their 14th mini-album released on December 6, 2024, became the first K-pop girl-group song to earn RIAA Platinum certification. Following a 17-week run on the Billboard Hot 100, the song reached the highest RIAA tier ever achieved by a K-pop girl group, adding to TWICE’s global achievement.
