Global girl group XG (Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya, Cocona) has redefined the meaning of its group name ahead of the release of its first full-length album.




On January 12, XG announced through its official SNS channels that the acronym XG now stands for “Xtraordinary Genes,” replacing its previous meaning, “Xtraordinary Girls.” This change marks a significant turning point as all members have entered their 20s. Since debut, XG has represented “Xtraordinary Girls,” showcasing unconventional music and performances that defy norms while delivering a message of empowerment and individuality to people from diverse backgrounds around the world. Through this vision, XG has established a distinct presence on the global stage.



The newly adopted meaning, “Xtraordinary Genes,” symbolizes the core essence inherent in each member—creativity, fearlessness toward change, and the determination to create new culture. The shift from “Girls” to “Genes,” which represents a more fundamental origin, serves as a declaration that XG is turning a new page in its journey.



Beginning with this redefinition, XG will release its first full-length album, “THE CORE – 核,” on January 23. The album stands as a bold statement capturing the group’s deepest essence. In addition, XG has confirmed the launch of its second world tour, “XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE,” starting in February.



Following a remarkable year in 2025—including a performance at Coachella, entry into the Tokyo Dome through a world tour, and dominance on global charts—attention is now focused on the direction XG will take in 2026 with their first full-length album and world tour.

The album will feature a total of ten tracks, including pre-release singles “GALA” and “4 SEASONS,” along with “XIGNAL (The Intro),” “ROCK THE BOAT,” “TAKE MY BREATH,” “NO GOOD,” “HYPNOTIZE,” “UP NOW,” “O.R.B (Obviously Reads Bro),” and “PS118.”
