Global girl group BLACKPINK (Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa) has confirmed their full-group comeback on February 27.
On the 15th, YG Entertainment unveiled “BLACKPINK 3rd MINI ALBUM [DEADLINE]” via its official blog, signaling the start of the group’s comeback promotions. The teaser featured stylish motion graphics using BLACKPINK’s signature color. A streak of pink light sliced through the darkness at high speed, leaving repeated afterimages, while a racing, intensifying sound heightened the sense of tension. The teaser officially announced the release of the group’s third mini album on February 27 at 1 p.m. (KST).
The album title, ‘DEADLINE,’ shares its name with the group’s world tour, which began last July with their historic concert at Goyang Stadium—the first ever by a K-pop girl group at the venue—and has since taken them across the globe. The upcoming comeback is expected to serve as a grand finale to their journey of shared emotions and memories with global fans.
YG Entertainment previously stated that major album preparations, including the music video shoot, had already been completed, with the company focusing on maximizing the album’s overall quality. YG commented, “We sincerely thank the fans who have waited for us for such a long time. We will repay you with music of the highest quality, so please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently meeting fans worldwide through the ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR <DEADLINE>,’ spanning 16 cities and 33 shows. The group will perform at Tokyo Dome in Japan from the 16th to the 18th, followed by the tour finale at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong from the 24th to the 26th.
