The group BTS set a great record by occupying the top spot on the US Billboard's main single chart 'Hot 100' for 4 weeks in a row.
US Billboard announced on the 21st (local time) that BTS had reached the top of the 'Hot 100' on the latest Billboard chart (as of June 26) with the digital single 'Butter' released on the 21st of last month.
'Butter' went straight to number one on the 'Hot 100' chart (as of June 5) in the first week of its entry, and maintained the top position for 4 weeks in a row by taking the top spot until the latest chart.
According to Billboard, 'Butter' is the 13th song out of 54 songs that went straight to number one in the first week of entry, and topped the charts for more than four consecutive weeks. As a group, this is the first record since Aerosmith in 1998 and the first in the 21st century.
Citing MRC data, Billboard explained, "In the weekly tally until June 20, the number of radio listeners of 'Butter' was 25.8 million, which is a 6% increase compared to that of the previous week."
Starting with 'Dynamite', 'Savage Love' remix version, 'Life Goes On', and 'Butter', BTS reached the top of the 'Hot 100' with 4 songs in a row, continuing the record streak, increasing the status of '21st century pop icon'.
