K-pop star Park Yoo-chun, a member of South Korean boy bands JYJ and now defunct TVXQ, said that he will live honestly.
The District Court of Suwon sentenced him to two years of probation with ten months of imprisonment and fined 1.4 million KRW in a case that pertains to Yoochun purchasing Philopon, a form of methamphetamine, on three occasions, and injecting the drug seven times.
"The accused has confessed to being guilty of all crimes and the drug test proved also positive. Drug crimes are very addictive, serious personal and social harm, so they must be strictly punished." the court also added.
After the trial, Park was met with a crowd of reporters and some fans. He made a statement about reflecting on his actions, apologizing "I would like to apologise once again for causing concern to many people. I will give back to the society and virtuously work hard. I promise to do so," he said, "I'm sorry. I feel very apologetic to my fans. I'm really sorry."
