The group Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino)'s 4th regular album 'Face the Sun' continues their constant streak for number one.
According to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 14th, Seventeen's 4th full-length album 'Face the Sun' topped the Japanese Oricon weekly album ranking (as of June 20).
As a result, SEVENTEEN took first place for the sixth time in two consecutive works following the ninth mini album 'Attacca' released last year in the Oricon weekly album ranking with 'Face the Sun'. With 380,000 copies in the first week of release alone, it has surpassed the sales figures above and set its own best record.
SEVENTEEN thanked the fans, saying, "Thank you to Carat (fandom name) who always give us unchanging love. We will continue to work hard to become a SEVENTEEN who is like the one and only 'The Sun' to all of you who support us."
Previously, SEVENTEEN ranked first in the Japanese Oricon Daily Album Rankings on June 9th and maintained the first place for 4 days in a row. It even climbed to the top of the charts, confirming the passionate interest of local fans.
Seventeen showed the side of an 'irreplaceable K-pop leader' by shooting 'Career High' with 'Face the Sun'. 'Face the Sun' recorded sales of 2,067,769 copies in the first week of the week (album sales in the first week after release), and was listed in the 'double million seller' (more than 2 million copies sold) in the Initial sales.
In K-pop history, only BTS and Seventeen have sold more than 1 million copies on the first day of album release and achieved a 'double million seller' in the first week.
Seventeen also achieved significant results on the Billboard chart. On the Billboard main album chart, 'Billboard 200', it entered the top 10 chart for the first time, rising 6 places from the 13th position set with the previous album 'Attacca'.
Meanwhile, Seventeen will hold their third world tour 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [BE THE SUN]', starting with the Seoul performance held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 25th and 26th.
