BLACKPINK's 'Pink Venom' surpasses 200 million streaming on Spotify.
BLACKPINK has set another meaningful milestone on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
YG Entertainment announced on the 30th that Blackpink's 2nd regular album pre-release song 'Pink Venom' has surpassed 200 million streams on Spotify.
In just 42 days since it was released on August 19, this is the fastest among K-pop female artists that have achieved 200 million streaming on Spotify.
The previous best record was member Lisa's solo song 'MONEY' (on the 65th), followed by Black Pink's 'How You Like That' (on the 86th). With this, BLACKPINK took the top 3 in this field, proving their strong global impact.
Meanwhile, Blackpink topped the US Billboard 200 and UK Official Album Charts with their 2nd full-length album 'BORN PINK'. BLACKPINK is the only Asian female artist to dominate the world's two largest charts at the same time, and it is the first time in 21 years since Destiny Child in 2001 based on the global music market as a whole.
The title song 'Shut Down' also made a feat of entering #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In addition, the pre-released song 'Pink Venom', which went straight to 22nd in the first week of release and broke the record for a single K-pop girl group single song, recorded 53rd, 67th, and 74th, then rebounded to 57th and succeeded in maintaining the top spot for 5 weeks in a row.
