BTS member Jimin has achieved a new record and become a legendary Korean solo artist. According to various international media outlets and the K-pop industry, including the World Music Awards (WMA), Jimin set a new record by surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify in the shortest period for a Korean solo artist on May 23rd.
Jimin broke the previous Guinness World Record of 409 days by achieving the milestone in just 393 days, making him the fastest Korean solo artist to reach 1 billion streams.
Once again, he has made a new mark in the history of Korean music as a solo artist. His solo project, 'Face,' consists of five music tracks and one sound effect track. Among them, the title track 'Like Crazy' surpassed 180 million streams, making it the fastest solo song by a Korean soloist to surpass 100 million streams. When combined with the English version included in the album, the total exceeds 350 million streams.
In addition, his participation in the tvN drama 'Our Blues' OST with the song 'With You' surpassed 230 million streams in the shortest period for a Korean OST. Collaborative songs, such as 'Vibe,' have also received a lot of love, with over 135 million streams.
Particularly, Jimin, as the first Korean singer to participate in the 'Fast & Furious' series OST, released the theme song 'Angel Pt.1' for the character 'Dom,' played by Vin Diesel. Currently, the song has recorded 23.268 million streams and has been topping the Spotify Korea Daily Top Songs chart for six consecutive days, proving its popularity.
