I.M of MONSTA X is embarking on his own musical journey.
On the 23rd, at 1 p.m., I.M will globally release his new mini-album 'OVERDRIVE.' The title track of the same name has already received a tremendous response with the teaser for its music video. The grand scale, sophisticated sound, and I.M's dazzling rap skills are captivating, heightening anticipation for his comeback. 'OVERDRIVE' carries a special meaning beyond just a new album. It showcases I.M's solo activities with a different style from what he has shown as part of the group MONSTA X, and it is his album released after a two-year hiatus since 'DUALITY,' garnering even more attention.
Moreover, it is his first album released under the new label, Sony Music. 'OVERDRIVE' represents the determination to pursue self-defined goals without hesitation, regardless of any circumstances.
I.M's resolute determination is clearly manifested in the large-scale music video. Racing through the chaotic city in a massive tank, he instantly overwhelms the gaze. The passion and sensibility poured into this album by I.M, who participated in the planning stage, stand out. The majestic sound of 'OVERDRIVE' will enhance the immersion for listeners.
I.M poured his heart and soul into the album, taking charge of all the lyrics, composition, and production. He has created diverse music, transcending trap, deep soul, R&B, and jazz.
The title track allows listeners to experience I.M's own emotional atmosphere within its dreamlike sound, and the lyrics expressing aspirations for the future provide a glimpse of his confidence in a new beginning. In addition to that, through the remaining six songs, 'Blame,' 'Dumb,' 'Habit,' 'More,' and 'Not Sorry,' you can witness a deeper musical evolution.
