BTS's Jungkook, straight to the top of the U.S. Billboard 'Hot 100' with his first solo single 'Seven,' firmly solidified his position as a 'global pop star.'
According to the latest Billboard chart released on the 24th (local time), Jungkook's solo single 'Seven,' which was released on the 14th, topped the main singles chart 'Hot 100.' 'Seven' became the 68th song to debut directly at No.1 on the 'Hot 100' since the chart's inception in 1958. 'Hot 100' is Billboard's main chart that ranks singles based on a combination of streaming, radio airplay, and sales (downloads and CDs). 'Seven' recorded 153,000 downloads, 21.9 million streams, and 6.4 million radio airplay impressions in the weekly tally (July 14-20).
Previously, Jungkook made his mark on the 'Hot 100' chart with the Hive Original Story '7FATES: CHAKHO' OST 'Stay Alive (Prod. SUGA of BTS)' and the collaboration song 'Left and Right' with Charlie Puth.
Billboard stated, "Following Jimin, who debuted at No.1 on the 'Hot 100' with 'Like Crazy' in April, Jungkook became the second BTS member to top the 'Hot 100.'" "With a total of 6 songs reaching No.1 on the 'Hot 100,' BTS has become the 9th group in history, along with artists like The Beatles, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, and Genesis, to have multiple members achieve this feat."
With the record-breaking achievement of topping the Billboard 'Hot 100' with 'Seven,' Jungkook accelerates his journey as a unique male solo artist.
