BTS's Jimin has elevated the status of K-pop music with his solo song 'Like crazy', which achieved the fastest 400 million streams in the history of K-pop solo tracks.
Released on August 3rd, 'Like crazy' surpassed 400 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify, in just 133 days, setting a new record for the shortest time by a K-pop solo artist.
As of August 8th, according to Spotify, the original version of 'Like crazy' recorded 414,227,133 streams, while the English version recorded 186,111,600 streams, resulting in a total of over 600 million streams. Despite being released on March 24th and having passed over four months, 'Like crazy' still ranked 30th on Spotify's global chart as of August 9th, maintaining its presence on the "Top 50" chart for a remarkable 128 days. This enduring popularity establishes it as the longest-charting K-pop solo track.
Notably, 'Like crazy' has also achieved tremendous success on Spotify in the United States, boasting the highest number of streams among K-pop solo tracks. As of the 9th of August, it has maintained its position on the daily chart for 73 consecutive days, marking the longest-charting record for a K-pop track in the United States without being an English song. This accomplishment underscores the immense love and support that Korean-language K-pop can receive even in the US.
These achievements serve as a source of pride for K-pop fans and offer compelling evidence of Jimin's musical accomplishments and global popularity within the context of BTS.
