BTS's V Take Top Spot on Oricon

BTS's V has claimed the top spot on the Japanese Oricon weekly album chart with his debut solo album 'Layover.'
According to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 13th (for the week of September 4th to September 10th), V's 'Layover,' released on the 8th, entered the "Weekly Digital Album Ranking" with 6,551 downloads, securing the number one position.
Previously, V also topped the "Daily Album Ranking" (as of September 8th) with 221,491 copies sold on the first day of release. On the same day, V's title track 'Slow Dancing' also climbed to the top of the Oricon 'Daily Digital Single Ranking,' achieving chart dominance in both album and digital single charts simultaneously.
According to the data from Hanteo Chart, as of the 12th, 'Layover' has sold 1.95 million copies, inching closer to the 2 million mark. 'Layover' achieved the status of a "million-seller" on the first day of release and set a new record for the highest single-day sales for a K-pop solo artist.
'Layover' is V's first solo album since his debut and includes a total of 6 songs, including the title track 'Slow Dancing,' as well as pre-released tracks 'Rainy Days,' 'Love Me Again,' 'Blue,' 'For Us,' and a bonus track 'Slow Dancing (Piano Ver.).' The album beautifully blends V's unique style and emotions, with participation from Min Hee-jin, the CEO and chief producer of ADOR.
