Girl group NewJeans (NewJeans, consisting of members Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein) has been demonstrating global popularity with their extended stay on the Billboard charts.
According to the latest Billboard chart released on October 31st (local time), NewJeans' 2nd mini-album 'Get Up' secured the 98th position on the main album chart, 'Billboard 200.'
As a result, 'Get Up' has continued its record-breaking run by charting for 14 consecutive weeks on the 'Billboard 200' since it debuted at No. 1 on August 5th, solidifying its position as the K-pop girl group with the longest charting period among 4th-generation acts. The title track of 'Get Up,' 'Super Shy,' and 'ETA,' have been enjoying popularity on global charts. 'Super Shy' has risen to 38th place on this week's 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' chart, climbing six spots from the previous week, and it ranked 56th on the 'Global 200' chart, moving up 14 spots from the previous week. 'Super Shy' has maintained its ranking for 16 consecutive weeks on both charts, while 'ETA' charted at 88th and 156th positions on the respective charts for the 14th week.
NewJeans' song 'GODS,' released on October 4th, held a spot on the Billboard 'Global (excluding the U.S.)' chart for three consecutive weeks. Serving as the theme song for the '2023 League of Legends (LoL) World Championship,' 'GODS' achieved an unusual feat by making its way onto the Billboard charts as a game theme song, reaffirming NewJeans' significant influence.
Moreover, NewJeans has been nominated in four categories (including one duplicate nomination) for the '2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA),' making them the K-pop artist with the most nominations.
